The purpose of the Boss 429 Mustang World Registry is to gather and compile accurate historical information about these rare Nascar Mustangs. The registry was established in 1974 by Stephen B. Strange, and with the help of the Ford Motor Company, Kar-Kraft engineers Fran Hernandez & Don Eichstaedt, and enthusiasts the world over; have been able to put together correct historical details, photographs, and statistics about the famous Boss 429 Mustang. We still need your help though, in gathering missing information & photos about the program. Today, we are working on publishing a complete Boss 429 Mustang World Registry book, ISBN 0-931417-04-X, scheduled for publication later this year.

According to the Boss 429 Registry: They were a total of 1359 - Boss 429 vehicles produced in 1969 & 1970 combined. Production ran from January 1969 to December of 1969. One actual year only; with two model years produced in that time. These numbers include the two Boss Cougars & two Shelby Quarter-horses, that were built. The cars were hand-built by Ford Motor Co. & Kar-Kraft at their secret assembly plant in Brighton, Michigan. The Boss 429 engines
were built by Ford at their Engine & Foundry Division in Lima, Ohio. Engines were sent to Kar-Kraft for installation in the vehicles.
Today, there is approx. 1000 original vehicles left on the planet. With the emerging global market, we really don't see prices for original cars falling off too much. There are just too many people interested in purchasing a car. The demand from Australia & New Zealand alone, would take all the available cars, if they could afford to bring them down-under.
Also, over 50% of the owners in our Registry, have owned their
car for over 10 years. Many owners more years than that.
In other words, owners tend to hang onto their cars. They love them! So it's very probable, one would have to wait over a decade for a particular car to come up for sale. In event of death, many times, the estate heirs retain the car themselves. Best place to purchase a Boss 429 Mustang; is at the major auctions, or up on Ebay. As with any collectible car, do your
homework and if in doubt; hire an expert to examine & evaluate the vehicle. These are expensive cars in today's collector car market.
Are you considering selling your Boss 429 Mustang in the near future? You may want to send the Registry copies of your car's invoices, build sheet, report, etc. Why? Whenever a car goes up on the market, we are inundated by potential buyers looking to verify the information listed on certain vehicles. It may be in your best interest to have the Registry file, full of historical data about your car. You may find it assists in reaching the car's target price.
